I just installed production premium cs5.5 on a brand new imac. I attached the canon zr40 I use to capture DV tapes to the machine. Premiere recognizes the camera and starts to play the footage but it is super jumpy and when I hit record, it only captures a short clip and stops. I double checked and all my capture settings seem correct. The kicker is I can capture from the camera just fine with Imovie. What am I missing?

    Computer Specs.

Processor: 3.4 ghz Intel Core i7
    8 gig memory
AMD radeon graphic card 6970m 1024 mb
    1 terabyte internal hard drive.
    2.5 terabytes external.

Capture to a second internal drive or qualified external drive. Never capture to the boot drive. Most NLE apps work this way. Try that first.

Sorry, I forgot to mention that I partitioned the 1 terabyte drive into a 250 gig boot drive and 750 scratch drive. Anything I was capturing was the scratch drive.

I just tried capturing to one of the externals, and it was still jumpy. I think the problems somewhere else.

I clicked off the hdv/dv control and capturing worked fine. Weird.
