  XML export then import failure in CS5

  Hey CCcommunity,

  I am trying to get PluralEyes working on my Windows 7 64-bit PC running Premiere CS5 (v5.0.3).

  Part of the process involves exporting my project to an XML file, pluraleyes does its magic, and spits out another XML file for me to import. Upon re-import, I get this error:

  “FILE IMPORT ERROR – The project could not be loaded, it may be damaged or contain outdated elements. “

  One time, I got this error message:
  Please check the FCP Translation Results report (added to the main bin) for possible issues encountered during translation.

  I’ve concluded this is not a problem with pluraleyes, but rather something to do with my Premiere. If I skip the plural eyes step, and simply export a very simple (one XDCam clip) project to XML, I am still unable to import it back into a new project.

  Any help or tips will be greatly appreciated.

  Update:

  I have successfully imported an XML project file generated on a MAC’s Final Cut Pro.

  Also, I tried importing another premiere CS5-generated XML running on another computer here, and again it failed, “corrupt or damaged project”

  If anyone is reading these, some help would be really appreciated.

  UPDATE:

  In case anyone else comes across this issue and actually reads this conversation with myself… We (me and helpful Bruce at PluralEyes) have determined that CS5 will not import XMLs if there are Sony XDCam files in the project… which has been the root of my problem.

  This issue has apparently been fixed in CS 5.5.

  I have just encountered this same problem, I have a wedding ceremony with footage from a Sony FS100 and 2 60D’s plus audio from a Zoom H1 and it comes up with the same problem, got the newest version of Pluraleyes as I just switched from the FCP version this week and got CS 5.5 installed. Any more advice on the matter?

  I have had this problem for the last few days, wrecked my head. Tried re installing both software’s, different exports, clips, etc but no luck.
  BUT!!! Im delighted to say I think Ive just fixed the problem I was having. I didnt realize that if you have any effects on the clips that it didnt really like that in the xml. So I made sure I had no effects when bringing it into plural eyes.
  But what really helped was the extension with plural eyes. So its dead easy and synced up real quick. Which Im thankful for because it was wasting a lot more time than saving trying to figure it out.
