When rendering out a MP4, sometimes, well 75% at a time now, since my timeline is ~1.5-2hrs, it cause CS5 to crash! (I mean it says PremPro has stopped responding and kicked me out entirely.) Anyone knows what causes this? If I keep trying, it seems to be crashed at different time point (i.e. 20%, 30%…) I thought it has to do with some background program, but, this morning, while I was still using my pc and no screen saver or other programs came up, it produced this message. Does it have to do with Overclocking? Memory problem? How can I test or prevent this?

    Sincerely,
    Perry

I know this always sounds very simplistic, but we were experiencing very similar problems recently. Lockups would always occur during intensive processing, but never at the same exact spot in the processing. This indicated memory issues, but varying ones. One common cause of recurring but varying processing or RAM problems is heat. I opened the PC’s case and it was coated with dust. Took it outside with a n air compressor set to low, and blew out the dust. All lock-ups ceased – totally. Certainly the cheapest and easiest thing to try first. If the problem persists, try to run a free RAM diagnostics tool like MemTest.
