  Organising an HD to DVD project

  Hi
  I have filmed a documentary of my band and I have a lot of footage to compile in a PAL DVD. The footage was shot in 1080p (16:9) on a DSLR.

  Now, some of the videos were edited in Premiere, ready for export and some were done in After Effects.

  I have a few questions:

  1. what would be the easiest way to compile these for Encore? Dynamic Link? Export them in Mpeg2? Any help on this appreciated as I don’t want to waste any time as all the exports are so lengthy.

  2. When exporting in MPEG2-DVD, which settings should I go for? I’m mainly talking about bitrate settings I suppose. I obviously want the best quality possible, but don’t want to spend 2 days exporting my 70 minute film (I have a fair bit of Magic Bullet on there).

  Thanks very much for your help. I’m in a real rush with this so any help would be great!

  Also, sorry to have another question. I’ve just been testing transcoding within Encore with my 1280×720 files.

  When I compress in Premiere first to M2V I have to crop it to get rid of the black bars at the side (9 pixels at top and bottom) then import it into Encore it’s fine. However, when I transcode the linked video inside of encore, and I crop the same, the video then has a black border round the whole video. Thanks very much and sorry for not including in the original post.

  If you have an M2V in Encore, you should not need to transcode…

  Finish your edit.
  Export to AME.
  Select DVD SD preset.

  OR

  Launch AME.
  Import PP sequence.
  Render out mpge2 files.

  Import those files into Encore.
