Proxy Editing from Canon XF-100 MXF files
Hello everyone,
I hope somebody could help me with this situation:I will be editing some footage shot by someone else with a Canon XF-100. the clips will be 1080p 25fps 50mps 4:2:2. Since I will edit this material in another city, the guy’s going to send me the clips over the internet. I asked him (correct me if I’m wrong, please) to convert the files into Prores422 Proxy 480p 25fps, so that I’ll have good quality and relatively little size.
The problem is that the original files have 2 audio tracks: one channel from an ext mike handheld by an interviewer, and another channel from the built-in mike for ambience. When I compress the MXF files to Prores with Adobe Encoder I get only one audio track. Is there a way to get both the tracks and then, back in Premiere 5.5, adjust volumes and other stuff, but being able to use both of them indipendently?
Another curiosity, if you can: If I color correct the Proxy files, will be the correction consistent once replaced with the originals?
Many thanks to anyone will reply
