    Im working on a logo that gets cut out by a plasma torch… ive got the emitter from PI and the rusty steel BG in AE7…
    i want to add a lense flare that flickers… I was wondering if there was an expression out there that could help me achieve this effect.

    Put The lens flare on a black layer animate the flare point then look in the Effect menu>animation presets>behaviors>opacity flash random.

    Maybe add a wiggle expression to the brightness of the lens flare. Something like:

    wiggle(6, 40);

    And I would highly recommend Knoll Light Factory, over the standard AE/Knoll 35MM lens flare. It even has some sort of welder torch preset, I believe.
