    Hello there

Is it posible to link a mask to a motion path?

    this is the situation:
I have of a close up of a guy in bed. But there is an animation on top of it of little ‘worms’ comming out of his mouth. (not really worms before people only reply on that word 😉 but it’s tuberculosis, what looks like little worms)
There between 1 and 2cm long. and they move a little bit. the guy moves also.
And i want the ‘worms’ gone.

There almost gone (i’ve done it with masks, if anybody has a better idea please let me know) but you can clearly see that the mask isn’t moving along with the footage.

    Hope someone can help me

    Greetings

Not sure I understand the situtation. You mean you want to have a whole mask get translated along a motion path? Perhaps you can just put the mask/s on a separate layer and animate that layer’s position property to follow the motion path?

to make the layer follow the footage, of course you’ll need to track the footage – either draw the motion path manually or use AE’s tracking feature.

Hope this helps, sorry if this is no what you meant.

You can use a mask shape as a motion path. Select the Mask Shape property, Edit > Copy, then select the Position property and Edit > Paste. Works in reverse, as well.

You can’t directly link the path and the mask, though. If you make changes to one, copy and paste to the other.
