  avi clip being imported as audio

  The clip is from a little Sony handy cam and is am avi file, plays in WMP just fine as a video but when I import it to premiere it reads it as an audio file only, ideas?

  I downloaded gspot and it said I have the correct codecs for it, all it says is .avi

  AVI is not a codec. AVI is a container. What is the codec used inside that container?

  It says the codec is h264 and the name is h.264/ mpeg4-AVC
