Hello,
I posted a question a while back and was still hoping for some help. I can’t find a sequence that I have created. It’s an open for a segment of this program I am editing. I need to make some changes.
I’m on a PC. I have a feeling that I created this “open” on another projects sequence name accidentally. I need to find that project and the only way I can think to do that is to look for one of the files that is on that timeline. I think it may be the only place on the computer where that file is used in a timeline. Unfortunately, I don’t think I can simply search sequence names or for that file. I need to know WHERE that file has been used.
Does Adobe have some sort of searching tool for this?

Here’s something you can do if there is one file unique to that sequence:
PrPro project files are nothing more than XML text files. You can search each project file in a text editor for the name of the unique file.
Warning: accidentaly don’t save the project file after searching it. I may put codes into it that make it unreadable.
If you are familiar with the concept of grep there are are apps in Windows and Mac for mass searching of text files if you have a lot of them.

If you know approximately (within a few days) when you worked on the project open last, you could do an advanced search, and find only .prproj files which were last modified within that range of dates. Of course you’d have to open all of them to check the timelines, but if you can at least narrow it down to a small number of projects, the search won’t be too time consuming. Good luck!
