  • Best FCP-PP Switch Training?

I need to learn PP fast!

I’m a 10 year final cut editor making the switch from FCPsuckX

I’ve been looking online for an in-depth training series that directly addresses the hundreds of editors who know FCP inside and out, and just need to focus on moving over. I have not seen anything specifically apart from some surface training from Adobe… I need a 10-hour course… Lynda.com has nothing… has anyone seen what I am describing anywhere?

    Thanks

See this page for recommendations, including an excellent book and video series.

I’ve also been using FCP since way back in the FCP3 days, and have switched over. I loked at all of the recommendations posted by Todd, but I’ve also found the Creative Cow podcasts VERY useful. I subscribed to the entire series and “cherry picked” which ones I wanted to view.

Basically, PP is very similar to FCP 7 in many ways and being able to use the FCP shortcuts really made the transition smooth in most cases. I’ve cut about 3 pieces on it and like anything else different I’ve have stumbled a few times trying to figure out the “how to do it’s” but after a week or so this is becoming a very small issue.

    Good luck.

I agree about the COW tutorials. Rich Harrington and Andrew Devis have been doing really good work on those.

The Creative Cow tutorials and the Video2Brain series are both very good. Check out some excerpts from the Video2Brain title: https://blogs.adobe.com/kevinmonahan/2011/04/08/free-sample-video-tutorials-from-adobe-premiere-pro-cs5-learn-by-video/
