  Help me with expressions please

  Hi

  Im trying to figure how to use a expression like that:

  I have text layer with the number 1500, i want to count it to 1903.

  My question is how to make after effects link the numbers, for example, always when the number gets to 1509 it add a +1 on the next. 1510, when theres 1599 it add +1 to the next, 1600.

  I was sucessfull to make it work making a solid and apply the number effects, but i want to do it in a text layer. I hope you understand my question, sorry for the bad english.

  Not to state the obvious, but simple addition will do ;O).

  1500+Math.floor(time)

  will add one year for each second.

  1500+Math.floor(timeToFrames(time))

  will do the same, but at every frame. If you need the ultimate control add a slider expression control to your layer and try this:
  
  year_start=1500;
  year_end=1903;
  year_control=effect(“Slider Control”)(“Slider”);

  year_current=linear(year_control,0,100,year_start,year_end);

  [year_current]
  

  This will give you the same functionality like the Numbers effect – if you animate the slider from 0 to 100, the counter will follow accordingly, allowing you to add inbetween keys where needed.
