Hey guys, just installed AE and Premiere Pro CS 5.5..

I’ve tried google searching but I’m not really getting thorough enough answers.

    Can I delete AE CS5 and PPro CS5 after I installed CS5.5?

I’m pretty sure I don’t have any crazy projects or anything that wouldn’t be supported in cs5.5, I shoot DSLR.

Also, can I get rid of Media Encoder CS5? From what Ive been reading AME cs5.5 is a lot better, so I don’t get why people are recommending to keep both versions (for Ppro and AE as well)?

I would uninstall CS5 first run Cleanscript and then install 5.5.

Just leave the older versions for a month or two as it does not use much space. Make sure the 5.5 is stable and reliable as these programs give problems at their early stages.

I have read that if you upgrade install CS5 and.5 with an earlier version of of CS3 or 4, the upgrade process looks and takes things from the earlier versions.

If you then later uninstall the earlier versions AFTER you have installed the new upgrade, you will have problems.

The advice given is to run the Adobe uninstaller program on the earlier version and then install the new version.

One major caveat – the upgrade to CS5.5 will ask for your prior version serial # so be sure you have it when running the upgrade.

(and be prepared, it takes about 1 1/2hrs to install Cs5.5)
