So I was able to convert my Canon 5D files into full HD Mepg2 files for editing in Premiere Pro CS4 by using Adobe Media Encoder. Does anybody see a problem with doing this?

I tried various other codecs using Cineform and Streamclip but the converted files with theose did not play any better than the original 5D files and they ended up being about 4 times bigger in MB’s.

When I shoot with my Canon XH A1s, Premiere Pro captures that footage as Mpeg2 and they look and play fine. But even though these converted 5D files look and play great is there something wrong with doing it this way?

    Thanks for any input;)
