  Problems Exporting with DSLR !!!!

  Howdy,

  I’m looking for a little help.

  I have video shot on a Canon 550D DSLR,

  I shot it 1920 – 1080 @ 24 fps.

  I’m using CS5 on 64 bit AMD Phenom x 3 with 8 Gig Ram.

  With CS5 having DSLR as a native preset I chose DSLR 1080p24 in my sequence settings and edit the video. With the playback within Prem Pro looking great.

  The video is all edited and ready to export. Now this is where i encounter the problems.

  I have tried several different exporting codecs to get a great final product with no success.
  The HD quality seems fine but when ever the shot moves eg. panning left to right, the picture seems like it goes a little blurry and the people in the clip have outlines but only when the camera moves.The funny part is when i play it in fast forward the picture is fine??I don’t know what i’m doing wrong. I thought it might be interlaced vs progressive but i only get the 1080p24fps preset i the sequence settings.

  How do i know if it is interlaced or progressive footage? prem pro interpret footage has it as progressive.

  I have been using Encoder with the following settings:

  Format: H.264 (is this the right codec for the settings?)
  Preset: HDTV 1080p 24 High Quality
  PAL
  Frame Rate: 24
  Pixel Aspect Ratio: square pixels
  Profile: Baseline
  Level: 4.2
  Render at maximum depth : unchecked
  Bitrate Encoding: VBR,Pass 2
  Target bitrate(Mbps): 20
  Maximum Bitrate:(Mbps): 25
  Set Key Frame Distance: unchecked
  Use Maximum Render Quality: checked
  Use Previews: checked
  Use Frame Blending: cheked

  Are these the right export settings?
  Have i set up the sequence right?

  I want to use the footage for a bluray,dvd and media player.

  Any help would be very much appreciated.

  Sounds like you have a framerate mismatch. The 1080p24 setting in Premiere Pro is 23.976 and you’re exporting in straight 24p. My guess is Premiere is conforming your 24p footage to 23.976p then conforming it back to 24p so you’re getting a little bit of frame blending artifacts.

  Create a new sequence, make sure its straight 24p, select all the clips on the old timeline and paste them into the new one. You may have to eyeball the edit for any slight frame gaps, but you should be okay.
