Premiere CS5 Export Advice Needed
Posted by Marcus Carey on February 5, 2011 at 3:26 amI am trying to get a handle on my new Adobe Premiere CS5 after having used CS3 for years.
After choosing my sequence to export, I click export and then media. But I don’t see anyplace for a custom preset which allows me to change bitrate, quality etc.
Also, I thought I saw a video which said that in CS5 the list of presets included choices like Youtube HD and export setting specifically suited for burning an HD DVD. I don’t see those either.
Any help?

February 5, 2011 at 3:44 amBy selecting the “Format” field, all the export format options are presented, then after you pick a format, all the presets that are available under that format are available in the “Preset” field.
You can customize the settings in the “video” and “audio” tabs below the “Summary…you may have to “twirl down” some of the settings the first time.

February 5, 2011 at 3:47 amThanks, but if I choose a Quicktime or AVI format, none of the options below are available. Is this the correct function?

February 5, 2011 at 4:24 amThe You Tube presets, along with most web presets are all under “H264” because that’s the filetype…
AVI is a wrapper, there aren’t many presets…you can go into the video tab and change the codec, etc.
The same is true for QT…
In the “Format” list you have the parameters listed for MPEG2-BluRay…which is the HD DVD format…H264 BluRay is also there…FLV/F4V…Windows Media…each one of these has the presets that fit under that format.

February 5, 2011 at 2:55 pmThanks for the reply, but actually in the video tab under .avi or Quicktime, there are no options available under the Video tab. They are grayed out.
Is this your experience?

February 5, 2011 at 4:17 pmThat is correct.
Pal ís 720×576, period. Same goes for NTSC.
The only thing you can change is the Aspect Ratio. -

February 6, 2011 at 6:53 pmDid you download/unlock all the additional components? (codecs, etc.)
You should be able to change attributes… Do you see all the formats?
