Strange waiting time on Premiere Pro
When I use Premiere Pro CS5 I often use other programs at the same time (Photoshop, Soundboost etc..). Sometimes I hide Premiere and go to the desktop and search for files. Premiere Pro is still open. The problem is, when I click on another program (or the desktop) and go back to Premiere, Premiere waits (strange waiting-time?)1-2 minutes before I can continue my editing-work. If I click at the timeline or somewhere at the Premiere menu or windoes, it turn bright and cannot do anything before “something” is ready and Premiere turns normal again. Why does this happen? I have a powerfull computer with big harddisces. I just re-installed the complete Adobe-package. But the problem is still there. It must be something memory-problem. Do somebody have an idea of what the problem could be?

That happens to me too (and many others), but it’s about 4-6 seconds of waiting time before I can use Premiere, not 1-2 minutes. Disabling my anti-virus software fixes the problem. 1-2 minutes seems like a long time, so maybe it’s something other than the virus software.

Norton must use alot of memory. I guess that the reason why the waitingtime was up to 1 minute on my computer, was beause I use to have a lot (I mean really alot of) effects (Magic bulet, Mss fire, Shine, etc.) on the timeline.Bedst regards. Janus
