Not a good idea to install both versions in same partition, they may share some files/libraries and that is where you will run into problems. I realize you may want both versions during a transitional period, but not recommended

Unfortunately, I need both editions of the Creative Suite on my machine for reasons not necessary to discuss here.

Would this be as easy as uninstalling CS4 from my primary partition, then re-installing perhaps on a seperate partition or drive?

    I appreciate the response!

I am finally to a point where I can do something about this. Are there any suggestions on which version to uninstall and reinstall on a a new partition? I was going to uninstall CS5 on my primary partition and put it on the new partition.

    Anyone have any ideas?

You can certainly run CS4 and CS5 applications on the same computer, from the same partition, and even at the same time. Problems do arise if you install CS4 after CS5, but installing CS5 after CS4 should work fine. Every one of my computers has CS4 and CS5 on them (and some have CS3).
