Syncing Broadcast WAV’s to timecode
hey guys,
i couldn’t find a solution on the site so here’s my fresh enquiry::
how do i sync Broadcast WAV’s (BWFF) in premiere?
to clarify i have sucsessfully imported them into the project bin, but once i drag into the timeline, it doesn’t sync them to the respected timecode it was recorded.
also to extend this syncing problem is there anyway for premiere to sync the timecode for video clips?
i ingested the footage from mini dv tape using HDVSplit, which split each clip into a separate file, with time stamped file name.
is the timecode info within the file or do i have to manually sync the video to the respected timecode in the timeline?
hopefully htis isn’t too hard as it’s quite simple in fcp

Hello Brendan,
I don’t think that is possible in Adobe Premeire pro at this moment in time.

I think they support this with the recent Adobe Premiere pro update which allows you to read Broadcast wave timecode I believe.
Broadcast WAV support: Support for the industry-standard Broadcast WAV audio file format improves Adobe Premiere Pro audio workflows where audio source timecode is of importance. This is of particular use in OMF export where source timecode is often used by the host DAW to sync multiple takes.

For syncing video, the built in multi-camera feature is what I think you’re looking for.
For syncing BWF to video at this time, you would need a third party plugin such as pluraleyes. Adobe DOES support BWF but not BWF timecode at the moment.
