  • Computer shuts down while rendering…

    I’ve got problems.

    I don’t have a great rig. Core 2 duo, 2 gb ram, Radeon 9600, running CS4.

When I export, it takes about an hour for Adobe Media Encoder to start encoding. Then, it will start rendering. Most of the time, however, my computer shuts down entirely. No reset, just a hard shut down.

I’ve looked into it and lots of my research leads to overheating. The CPU reaches 100% load and shuts down. What would be a solution to this?
Why is AME taking an hour to load a project for a 4 minute video?
Should I just throw this computer out the window?
Someone please help me find some form of workaround as a new computer isn’t really an option.

    Thanks!
