Mac User: Export Media to Quicktime – File won’t appear in Media Encoder CS4
Ok this is my first post.
And I am in some trouble with Premiere CS4 + Media Encoder CS4.I am on an iMac, 2.66GHz Intel Core 2 Duo Processor with 4GB of RAM.
Apple OS 10.6.4 which comes with Quicktime X (10.0).
Plus I have a fully functioning version of Quicktime 7.6.6.
I am using the Adobe Premium CS4 suite.The Project >>
I am working on a number of short videos about 5-6 minutes in length in Premiere.
The green backgrounds have been removed in After Effects and the sound edited in Soundbooth.
So far so good…In Premiere, I select: EXPORT > MEDIA
In the export settings: Choose Quicktime as the format I wish to export as (plus PAL DVD WIDESCREEN )… select OK.The Media Encoder Launches, but no file will appear in my Rendering Queue???
Is Premiere + ME having trouble trying to figure out what version of Quicktime to use?
X or 7.6.6?If anyone has any ideas – I would love to hear from you.
How do I fix this????Thanks in Advance.

Was QT 7.6.6 installed before CS4?
Have you been using this and it recently stopped functioning propoerly?
QTX is definitely a good thing for everyone, but I doubt that CS4 can even see it. It didn’t exist when CS4 was released.
Is it possible that the codec you’ve picked isn’t handled by QT 7.6.6 when QTX is installed?
Media Encoder works properly for everything but QT?

No — it has always been like this.QTX is definitely a good thing for everyone, but I doubt that CS4 can even see it. It didn’t exist when CS4 was released. Right. Didn’t think of that…

I am using DV-PAL.Media Encoder works properly for everything but QT?
If you export as QT, no file even appears in the Render Queue in ME.I have had success will exporting to FLV. But only some times. The shorter the video the higher the success rate, or so it seems. Some will stop and just freeze at abut 85% through rendering it.
Any thoughts?

Yeah…I’d start with a reinstall of CS4 now that QT 7.6.x is on the system. It probably should have prevented you from installing as it didn’t see a standard old 32 bit QT install. I’m willing to bet there may be missing installed Adobe components due to the proper version of QT not being on the machine.
So…start with that.
