    Hi Milton,

The way that PPro uses sequence in out points and lift extract techniques are based on tracks being switched “on” AKA “Active”. If they aren’t active then that track is not affected by the lift or extract. It has it’s advantages having this but I do agree it could be a little simpler to override.

How I use this workflow is to activate and deactivate the video tracks and audio tracks at once by holding shift down while I click on an active or inactive track. This applies the active state to all layers in that section (video or audio) then I highlight the track/s I want only affected in the in out point lift or extract. This way if I want to completely lift or extract completely and I don’t have all the layer active I can do so in a couple of clicks and hit ; or ‘ for lift or extract.

    Hope that helps.

im confused by what you said.

it seems I have to have the sync lock “on” every track. if i have “off” one audio track 2, mark in and out and select video 1 and audio 1, and extract, it leaves a hole.

if i turn sync lock back on audio 2, and extract it works right.

how do i prevent audio track 2 from extracting as well? I’m trying to create a video montage to a music track.

It sounds like sync won’t help you here. Lock the audio track with the music only so it never gets affected by any lifts extracts.

If you are cutting a music video the music track doesn’t need to move or trim so… Does that help?

it helps but why is it acting that way? doesnt make sense.

i put another video track with audio over top of my V1 track to test it out and it will work correctly. but once i add an audio only track music it does not work right.
