  • exporterquicktimehost.prm error – Firewall issue

    I have this infamous error exporterquicktimehost.prm. I have read supposedly every forum on the topic on the web, and it seems my situation is special.

    So supposedly the issue is I am using After Effects and Premiere CS5 which are 64 bit applications, but they are having issues communicating with quicktime which is a 32 bit application. It seems the issue is fixed for most people when they turn off their firewall. However when I turn off my firewalls the issue persists.

    However there is a twist, when I log onto a different account after effects and premiere pro boot up just fine, and they are able to export to .mov however they run really unstable and usually error out after about 5 minutes because of some plugin error. So here I am working on my files on one account then logging off and exporting onto the other account and its driving me bonkers.

    My only theory is that I have some sneaky 3rd party firewall software that is blocking stuff that I am unaware of.

    ::::MY QUESTION::::

    1. Are there any sneaky firewall softwares that I need to look out for?

    2. Can someone help me I really have no idea whats going on, and I use after effects for work school and daily living, so my life pretty much sucks right now.

    Windows 7 64bit Professional
    12 gigs ram
    core i7 920
    No 3rd party firewall software installed (That I am aware of)

    One person reported that FileMaker was blocking the TCP traffic (like a firewall would).

    A general rule is to not run any unnecessary software when you’re doing production work. Go through the list of running applications in Task Manager and see if any of the running applications can be quit without impairing your work.
