Editing iPhone4 Footage in Adobe Premiere Pro CS5
Hi,
I have shot a load of footage using my new iPhone, I know the quality isn’t great compared to camcorders, but it’s just a bit of fun.
I was wondering if anyone knew the what Premiere Pro preset I could use.
From what I can tell the videos are encoded in h.264 .mov container, have 1280 x 720 resolution and run at 25fps. But whenever I use a HD 720p preset there are always black lines on the side of the video. So I’m guessing that it’s using the wrong Aspect Ratio.
I’m running on a Macbook Pro, and I also posted this in the Apple iPhone Forum as well.

Set a desktop custom preset. 1280×720 (square PAR), and the frame rate according to your particular region.

Why not drag n drop one of the clips on top of the new item icon at the bottom of the project panel to get a matching sequence to the footage?

I’ll second Jon’s suggestion. With Premiere Pro CS5, selecting a sequence preset got a lot easier, since you can just drag most common footage types to the New Item icon and let Premiere Pro do the thinking.

Dropping the footage straight onto the New Item icon does the trick perfectly.
Now to get editing and figure out the export settings!Thanks,

Hi Jon,
I had a similar problem I used the same settings but the clips appear delayed and blurry. I tried your suggestion but it hasn’t made any difference. Do you add as a new item straight from the bin? Do you have any other suggestions? I’m pretty new to adobe.
