    Hello,
If anyone could help I would be very greatful – I have a Sony EX3, Premiere Pro/After Effects CS5 and a very fast 8gb ram Dell PC. I want to know the best workflow, ie. when I add an effect in after effects to a small piece of footage(180mb) what settings do I use to render that footage so I can bring it back into premiere pro beside my other xdcam footage and it play normally.

Also, if I cut a few pieces of footage together in premiere pro and want to export it, what setting should I use so that its similar in size and quality to the xdcam codec.

Everytime I try to export anything small from these two programs the files usually end up being 3-4gig

    Thanks in advance
    Paul.

While many do use dynamic link successfully, I honestly don’t like it one bit, and find it quite unreliable, except to send footage out to Encore.

We usually just render out uncompressed AVI or Quicktime Animation, and yes, the files are big so you’ll likely need a RAID array if you are doing editing and compositing on a regular basis.

I use Quicktime uncompressed. Set the frame size manually. I could not find an HD preset. And yes, 1 minute uncompressed (without alpha channel) HD is 7 gb. No problem on a Dell vostro i5 with AVCHD footage undderneath it
