  PP CS4 Export 16:9 aspect – but not letterbox!

  Hello!
  Ive got a problem and don’t know how to solve it. I have a DVCPro50 PAL Project 720×576 in 16:9 aspect. My original footage is 720×576 16:9 – No letterbox, anamorphic picture. Mo I want to export it the same way. But Media encoder always just uses a part of 720×576 Pixels and fills in the letterbox. But I want a anamorphic output. Full 720×576 Pixels used for video. No letterbox.

  Hi Andreas,

  What format are you exporting into?

  If it’s aDVD, as long as widescreen DV is selected, you should be fine.

  If you are exporting for the web, or computer playback (H.264 for example), you need to change your pixel aspect ratio to square (1.0), and change resolution to a 16:9 ratio, for example 1024×576.
