  Audio Files?

  I have imported a video clip in the format of .MV4 and .MPEG. The video file for this has the audio included also. How do I separate the audio from the video? Thanks a lot for your help.

  Hi Dave,

  Right click on the file and extract audio (in the project panel).

  If Premiere doesn’t see the audio, then it’s not supported. A free way to convert that file to audio only (.wav) is with VLC.

  Thanks a lot Vince – turns out I didn’t realize there were more audio tracks if I scrolled down, quite the amateur. not sure why it doesn’t automatically go to Audio/Video 1

  Hi Dave,

  The file you import has to match the tracks you have on the timeline.

  For example, if you only have stereo track, and the file you are importing is mono, it will create the appropriate tracks. It will also set the footage to the tracks that are selected.
