    Hello,

I’ve got a ridiculously complicated shoot coming up. There are going to be at least 4 tracks of video playing at all time. We are shooting with an HVX200, so everything we are editing will be an MXF file. We are editing in Premiere CS4 on Windows 7.

I am trying to figure out a way to label these files. I know in FCP there is the log and transfer feature which turns my contents folder into single .movs. From my research, there’s nothing like that in Premiere or windows. I understand Premiere edits it natively and some people like that more than what FCP does and blah blah blah. I’m not here to debate it nor start a debate on it.

I’m trying to find a way to not have every shot called “002912”. I know that if I change the names of the MXF files in the video folder, the link to its audio is lost. Any advice on how to go about achieving this goal?

    Thanks,
    Taylor

A combination of project bin structures and metadata. Embed in description details shot type etc. Have multiple clips selected and add metadata across all of them at once for multiple location or shot type etc. The search bar in project panel picks up on all metadata it’s pretty cool once you work it out.

    Hey Jon,

That’s a cool overview….any chance of a more step by step example?

I’d like to know more about that too…
