Full screen sequence preview lags when playing a .mov file
Hi, I am doing some special effects editing and I have imported an after effects rendered composition into premiere pro cs4 as an HD .mov file. Everything plays fine when I put the clip on the timeline and modify it, however, whenever I make the live preview full screen (pressing the tilde key) and run it, it lags, even when the file is fully rendered.
I have an i7-920 processor, 9 gigs of RAM and an ATI Radeon 3450.
Is this a circumstance of some of my hardware not being up to the task of running this properly in a full screen environment or is it a circumstance of codecs, because as of now, I only have the default ones installed.

Hi Mikkell,
Yes, this is likely due to lack of processing power on the graphics card, as well as the fact that it is “Quicktime”.

Alright. What video card would you recommend for Premiere editing at full screen?
