Audio Plays Outside of Capture Window…
Hello All,
I work for a Minor League Baseball team, and use a Matrox RT.X10 card to capture and produce in-game highlight reels for our TV Broadcast. I’ve routed audio from our Radio Booth into the RT.X10 so the play-by-play is synced and captured with each highlight in Premiere Pro 2.0. Here is my issue:
When the capture window is NOT open in Premiere (or even when Premiere isn’t open at all), I am still getting the audio from my capture source (radio, in this case) feeding through the computer speakers. This makes it nearly impossible for my editor to edit his highlights because he is hearing the live radio audio over the top of his specific clips’ audio. I’ve searched both the Premiere and Matrox programs on the computer for a setting to turn this off, but can’t seem to find one. We only want to hear audio from the capture source when the capture window is open. It seems to work correctly on our second (identical) workstation, am I missing something on this computer? Any advice is appreciated!

Have you checked the OS audio routing and sound card assignment?

I have poked around a bit. I have to be honest, I’m not quite sure what to look for. Nothing stands out as an obvious setting that would affect the problem.

In the control Panel go to Sound and Audio Devices go to the audio panel. And set the default recording device to your computer’s audio card.
You can also change the default input device in Premiere’s preferences but that would have to be changed every time the editor comes and goes.
