  HELP! issues with playback aspect ratio…

  hi everyone…

  whenever i view-render (press Enter) my timeline, the aspect ratio of edited footage on preview screen gets squashed down… my footage is animated renders from Adobe After Effects, i’ve tried different formates & settings (mov, avi, flv etc) & few codec options (MPEG4, H.264, none)

  i have tried all different playback settings

  i use CS4, duo core, 3.5GB RAM, (BUT) with motherboard built in graphic card

  Hi,
  wow, I had that same exact problem about a year ago. Can’t remember what it was or how I fixed it.

  If I remember correctly, it has something to do with your preview files.
  Heres some food for thought:
  1. Have you changed your scratch disk drive or folder location?
  2. have you messed around with project files relocating & having to Re-Link your missing footage?

  I think it has something to do with that.
  Your best bet is to clean out your preview folders.
  and or try copying 1 small part of the timeline and pasting it into another new project. try to render and see if that worked.

  What kind of preset are you using in Ppro? what pixel aspect ratio are you exporting from AFX?
  Like are you using square pixel footage from AFX with anamorphic widescreen preset in Ppro?

  thanks for the tip, i deleted old preview files, created a new scratch disk folder somewhere else, used a different codec for preview (from sequence settings) & it did the trick
