  • Audio is slowed down during Import

Hi, I’m having some problems with Premiere CS3. I have a couple of .mov files, and everytime I import them into Premiere, the audio gets slowed down to 50%, and the second half is cut off. The video still plays like normal and everything else is fine, in fact when I speed up the sound to 200%, it plays exactly how it should. The only problem is that the second half of each clip is cut off. I’ve adjusted various settings, tried created a new project, and copied the files into new locations but nothing seems to work. Has anybody else had this problem before and know how to fix it, it would be greatly appreciated? (I’m trying not to have to convert the video files if possible).

I have used QT Pro to export the audio as a .wav file, replacing the original audio on the timeline.

I had this same problem. In fact, I came across your post looking for a fix to this issue. I did figure out a fix that worked for me.

I simply uninstalled the current version of QT (7.6.5) and installed a later version (7.5.0). You will have to re import your clips, but the audio did play at the correct speed after the install.

This is were I got the earlier version.

A while back I had to use a similar trick to stop After Effects from crashing while rendering. That’s what gave me the idea. Hopefully I won’t get any other problems…
