I have read about a new processor line that should be released in Q1 of this year called Gulftown that should be part of the I7 core or I9 core family and include 6 cores on one chip. My assumption is (and those more knowledgeable can correct me if I am wrong) that the Adobe CS4 product line (Premiere Pro, Encore, After Effects, Photoshop, etc) does not currently support over four cores. Am I correct in this assumption? I looked through this site and Adobe’s and could not find information on the number of supported Cores.

Does anyone know if Adobe CS4 currently does or will soon support 6 cores?

Where’d you read that? I’ve seen Premiere exports showing over 90% (in performance monitor) on dual processor quad core Xeons with hyperthreading (16 processors). And it was fast.

That was my question, whether or not it would support more than four cores. I didn’t want to ypgrade to a six core from quad unless I could see a gain in encoding and transcoding. I could not find that info specifically laid out anywhere.
