Permission Issues with PP CS4 Snow Leopard
I’d be greatful is anyone can help.
I have Adobe Premiere Pro CS4 on Snow Leopard, both upto date with latest patches etc.
On my Leopard machine everything worked well. Now, when I attempt to play any video file (I’ve tried DV and mpg2) it plays for a couple of frames and just stops. I can scrub through okay. This applies to a project I am working on and new projects also.
I have found that if I log in as an admin all is fine but as a restricted user it does not work. I really don’t like logging in and running day to day as admin.
Would anyone know which files I need to look at to check permissions? The usual disk utility did nothing to solve the problem. Neither did an uninstall/install or indeed reinstalling the OS. By the way this is a clean install of CS4.
Any pointers or help would be appreciate to allow me to get on with things.

Is there a chance that the app was installed under administrator, and an update was installed as another log on?
Any plugins not installed as administrator?
It sounds like a mixed install of some sort to me.

Hi,
I installed PPro from my user account and also the update. No pluggins have been installed yet outside this.
It is quite frustrating, I can almost feel the solution within my grasp but just don’t know where to look. There must be a folder somewhere that either doesn’t allow access or read only access to my user account. I am hoping I can log in as admin and manually fix the permissions on any associated files. I also am beginning to believe it is in an area of the disk outside the users folder.
