I have just installed Premiere Pro CS4 and am trying to work with footage taken on my Panasonic TM-300 camera. The footage from the camera is 1920 x 1080 at 25 fps. My sequence settings are the same.

I am bringing the files in from Bridge, previewing them in the source monitor and then dragging the chosen footage to the timeline.

However when I try to play the footage in the Program Monitor (even after rendering) the footage is extremely jittery. It is better when I reduce the size of the program monitor window however when playing at even 50% it is barely watchable.

Any ideas why? My PC is brand new and has 6GB of RAM and a Intel 920 processor so I don’t think my PC should be struggling.

    Two things,

Usually with HD you simply need to set the preview to “Draft Quality” instead of Highest Quality, that normally does the trick and it sill looks very clear since it’s HD.

If that doesn’t work, sometimes you just need to make any kind of adjustment that would make you have to render the clip(s) like adjust color slightly or anti flicker, after rendering they seem to play better for some reason, especially a non compressed HD file.

    Hope that works.
