    Hi there

    Here is my problem

video 1 – music video which I have had to use the razor tool to create several different editable parts.

video 2 – basic title “Coming soon”

Aim – to have the coming soon text on screen showing the video underneath playing in the letters of the word “coming soon”

I apply the track matte effect to one of my sliced parts of the music video and in the dialogue box correlate it to work with video 2.

All my research shows that I should now just see the words coming soon with the video playing underneath.

I tried it with an unsliced version of the music video and it worked, but as soon as i slice up the music video the effect doesn’t work. I do need the video file to be sliced as I am creating other effects such as black and white, color replacement etc which, funnily enough all work fine.

    Any ideas gratefully received

It should work so long as it is the last effect on your list…

Have u tried to use the edit as a nest and add the track matte as the only effect on it. Meaning all the grading and edit is done inside the nest.
