Honestly the only cheep way to get Adobe anything for cheap (and keeping it legal) is if you happen to be a student at a collage or something. I’ve seen Creative Suites as low as 80% off the MSRP. Do some searches online and see what you can dig up. I did a quick search and found some download versions less than $300 but I couldn’t begin to tell you how legit it is.

Before you go spending all your money though, have you asked yourself “what features do I need?”
If you have a small consumer grade camera, Premier Pro may be a bit overkill to start. Maybe something less expensive like Sony Vegas or a basic version of Premier. Heck, I used Roxio software along with Windows movie maker for the longest time until I could afford the whole deal.

Another Idea is to see if someone is selling their old version of CS3. You never know what kind of deals you can find.

    Hello
    Thank you for the information.
Where can I get Movie maker from???
Have you ever heard of this program VideoCam Suite 2.0 it came with my camera
I also have Roxio on my computer.
Their is a place to get Adobe programs cheap but you have to be a student the place is https://www.journeyed.com/

If you have windows xp, Movie maker comes with it but it was discontinued when windows 7 came out. Now they have Windows Live Movie Maker which can be downloaded for free at:

    https://download.live.com/moviemaker

As far as VideoCam Suite is concerned I haven’t used it but I’ve heard a lot of people having problems with their Panasonic consumer grade cameras. But then again, I’m sure by now the makers of this software have released a patch to fix the issues, you might have to go and do a search for an update if you have the same issue. If you have Roxio, I would use that instead of VideoCam.

But for the love of Jebus, don’t use Pinnacle. That program is horrible! If you have about $50 bucks burning in your pocket, AVS has a pretty sweet package that I’ve mentioned on this forum before. You can get a full package with all their little programs for that price and sometimes these programs come in handy. Here’s there website if you wanna take a look. (And for the record, no they aren’t paying me to promote their product. I just have been impressed with it lately for smaller projects)

    Good luck on your projects!

Yes, I actually use After Effects quite often. I use it for all sorts of motion design projects and special effects either for clients or just to experiment with video. Being that I’m on a PC based editing system, I don’t use Final Cut Pro though so I couldn’t tell you about that program.

    Let’s see…

…You should be able to access the Roxio Media Import through the video editor Roxio has. When you attach it though it may not recognize the camera if it is not connected via fire-wire. Not sure about the new windows movie maker, but I believe it’s similar. Look for the option to capture from a device. Have your camcorder hooked up and follow the instructions.

You basically will be playing the camcorder in real time as the program saves the video in a format it can work with. From there, you just drop and drag your video in the time line and add some transitions if you want. If possible have it save the video files to a separate hard drive because video will eat up a lot of your HDD processing time.

Again, I’m not sure if Movie Maker has issues with USB connection but if it does, then you might have to look for the software that came with your camera to see if it has a program to capture to your computer. I can’t recall, but I don’t think that camera has a Fire-wire port or not, you’ll know more about that than I would.

I hope this helps, good luck!
