Received camcorder but don’t know how to set up timecode. Also would like to know if I can transfer avchd files to AV for off-line with CineForm and On-line them back to AVCHD with timecode intact.

    Hi Terry,

Are you sure you have the correct model number, because the Sony HDR-FX1000 camcorder records HDV to miniDV cassettes and has nothing to do with AVCHD. HDV is MPEG-2, AVCHD is H.264 format.

With this camera, you record directly into Premiere via 1394. Optionally, you can use Cineform NeoScene to convert the captured HDV files to the Cineform codec for editing. In Premiere, you can send your edited project (1080i) back to tape via 1394 if you wish, it will be transcoded back to the HDV format first behind the scenes then sent to tape.

Thank you for your kind response. In any case, Digital media sure beats my old chattering Moviola. Editorterry@aol.com
