We capture and playback in Premiere Pro CS3 3.2.0 using standard NTSC in. However, on capture and playback we get a tiny vertical jump that is persistent. It’s maybe just a line or two, up and down.
I measured the interval and it seems to happen about every 13 seconds most of the time. Any thoughts? ( Thanks)

Some more details would help. What is the format of the video you are capturing (DV, BetaCam, VHS, etc.)? How are you getting it into the computer (DV->Firewire, VHS->analog capture hardware, etc.)?

Do you use a sync generator (blackburst) in your facility?

We use DVCPro (ajd455 deck component in and out). And yes, we lock the deck to house sync.

Oddly, if you export to tape, the tape is OK, but if you try to feed video directly out to something else, you get the “jump”. It’s also noticeable on the capture screen/ thumbnail and any monitor on the direct output.

OK, then it is definitely weird. And beyond my engineering skills. Possible instability in your video capture/output board? (I remember one of my SD boards never had very stable phase)

sounds like something polling the system at regular intervals like a TSR maybe a network driver or printer driver.

OK, so this is a long shot since it’s an old post, but maybe someone here knows the answer…
I’m trying to capture video using the Panasonic AJ-D455. I can’t seem to receive the DV out signal.

I got the VTR with the YAD-455 already installed, read the entire pdf here trying to figure out an answer: ftp://ftp.panasonic.com/pub/panasonic/drivers/PBTS/manuals/OM_AJ-YAD455.pdf

    Any ideas? Please?

    Thx
