  • Rendering Premiere Pro file for Camtasia Studio

I have a moving background from Digital Juice and a credit roll on top of it that I created in Premiere Pro CS3. It works just fine when viewing in Premiere, but when I save it as an AVI and import it into Camtasia Studio, both the background and credit roll are jumpy. Is there some certain way to render or format to save it as so it will play smoothly in Camtasia?

[Rod Laughridge] “but when I save it as an AVI”

AVI is just a container, not a codec. I suspect you rendered as uncompressed which wont play smoothly on most computers, but should work fine after exported.

    Hi Mike,

Thanks for getting back to me. In this instance, I will want the final version to play on a computer so does this mean I should render it compressed or do something else?

I don’t know if you can render to the TechSmith AVI codec…that would work better most likely.

I edit my Camtasia stuff in Premiere Pro, so I never go back to Camtasia…so I’m sort of guessing what you might be dealing with…

Why exactly would you edit in Camtasia if you have Premiere Pro?
