Mac Premiere Pro CS4 – Can’t Activate Device in capture window
I normally use Premiere Pro CS4 on my powerhouse PC at work, but recently loaded the Mac version at home. The first time I tried to capture video, I got the message “Can’t Activate Device”. If I mess around with the settings, I can get deck control, but still can’t capture anything.
I also have CS3 loaded on the same machine, and it still captures just fine. Could it be an issue with having CS3 and CS4 on the same computer? I’ve been using CS3 to capture my footage, and then import into my CS4 project. It’d be nice to just capture within my CS4 project.
I’m on a 3Ghz iMac with 4gig of ram. I use either a Canon GL2 or Sony HVRM15AU HDV deck to capture with, both of which, as I mentioned, are working just fine in CS3.
If it’s a known problem having CS3 and CS4 on the same system, I’m willing to remove them both and then install CS4 only.
Thanks for any and all help.
