Diagonal Split Screen
I have two waiving flags that I would like to split on the screen, but instead of side to side I want to split it diagonally. I also want to see if instead of a a strait split, if I can blend it somehow.
Any suggestions.

A Track Matte is probably the best option; In Photoshop create a black and white image the same size as your project. The black and white will be divided diagonally with a feathered divide…if you cant, email me and I will make it.
Put your 2 flags, one in V1 and the other is V2 and the track matte in V3. Apply the Track Matte key to V2 (not V3). Configure the effect…Luma as the key and reverse if necessary and point it to V3. -
Believe it or not, you can use the titler to make the track matte. Use the pen tool to draw a white filled bezier. Then use it instead of the Photoshop file as Mike described above. Add a blur to it if you want to soften the divide.

Add the “linear wipe” transition effect to the top stacked clip and set the paramters to 50% completion for a middle crossover. set the wipe angle to around the 135 mark or the angle you like the look of best. then set the feather amount to soften the diagonal split.

You can pull the fader bar to the half way position with a diagonal wipe, then turn the softness dial all the way clockwise.
Opps, sorry. Got Premiere Pro confused with a Grass Valley switcher. My bad.
