  CS4 Source Monitor problems

  Occasionally when I drop an audio or video clip into the source monitor and try to play it Premiere controls freeze up and the clip will play all the way to the end, sometimes looping a couple of times, before I regain control of the program. During this time the windows task monitor shows Premiere as being a non-responsive program and nothing I have tried will stop it from playing. Has anyone else suffered from this problem?

  Suggest updating video and sound card drivers.

  Unfortunately both are running the latest drivers… but thanks for the idea!
