Need a little advice; I am in the process of exporting my project in the Media Encoder and am a little overwhelmed by all the presets available in CS3. My plan is for DVD release as well as theatrical release (so I am assuming I have to do two different versions).

Any direction on what the best would be- keeping in mind a couple of things:

For one I am a self taught filmaker so my technical experience is limited – use small words 🙂

Two: So far I have exported using the MPEG2 and really like the black bars across the top and bottom and am not sure of any way to achieve this without dealing with the scaling all the clips.

    Project Info:
    Type; AVI
    Frame Rate: 30 fps
    16:9

Any help would be much appreciated

    Thanks
    Michelle

    Hi Michelle,

The nice thing about encoder is that it has a lot of presets. If you select MPG2-DVD, the next pull down should have the option for Wide screen. If you want, you can fine tune the settings, but most of it is already optimized for general use. Play around with it and see what you can come up with if you like, but I would stick with the presents to start. Hope that helps.
