I have created a simple rough cut in Premiere. I want to export the clips *with appropriate trims* to AE.

If I copy and paste the clip from PPro into an AE comp, a new pre-comp is created containing the clip with its mark IN always at zero, ignoring the mark IN from Premiere.

If I import the Premiere project into AE, I get an AE comp containing pre-comps for all the shots in my sequence, and in each of these preC’s is a clip with its mark IN always at zero, ignoring the mark IN from Premiere.

My question is this: Is it possible that there is no way to preserve the IN/OUT marks in a PPro to AE workflow? Do I really have to import the raw shots, and manually re-trim them in AE? Please someone, uh, say it isn’t so?

I haven’t gone from PPro to AE very often… I know that the comp structure in AE doesn’t seamlessly interpret a PPro timeline…

What happens if you use the project manager and trim the project? Then you could load the trimmed PPro timeline in and you shouldn’t have the handles (trims) to deal with…

I’d try it with something small first…I’m not in a place where I can try this right this minute.
