  Tiff Seuqence problem

  Hello everyone,

  I have a problem with premiere with a thing that usually works fine.

  These are the details:

  I exported a short clip to a tiff sequence. then i open the tiff images in photoshop and draw on each of them seperately. now usualy, as soon as i save the editted tiff image, when i play the tiff sequence in premiere (after i render it ofcourse) i immediately see the editted, “revised” images.

  but suddenly it doesnt work.

  when i play the tiff sequence in the timeline, i see the “revised” images i made the last time i worked on the project, but any new frames i draw on, or even changes ive made to frames which i did last time, none of these show when i play the sequence, even though the seperate tiff images do show these chnages and have been saved properly.

  Any ideas?

  Have you tried to dump the render and scrub it before re-rendering?

  Oh dear,

  im afraid i dont know the meaning of “dump” and “scrub”, could you explain?

  Sequence>Delete Render Files
  Scrub = move playhead through the clip

  My suggestion is that the render files are kinda interfering with the updating process. By dumping (deleting them) the system looks only at the clean original and not the rendered file it made for it before. (separate files)

  I suggest the scrubbing as this will also help the system refresh what it is looking (not always necessary, but it can help it wake up).

  Hope this works for you.

  TIFF Files are large so maybe there is something in that not refreshing fast enough too?

  Hi Jon,

  Thanks alot for your help, dumping the rendered files solved the problem.

  Just for curiosity and general knowledge, could you explain what
  “move playhead through the clip” means?

  The playhead is what moves along the timeline as it is in playmode. when you stop playback the playhead or Current Time Indicator (CTI) stops on a frame. That red line is the CTI/Playhead. Using the mouse to grab and move it left or right is called scrubbing, forcing it to move manually and not in a playback mode (rewind/fwd). Through the clip just means manually moving the CTI left and right over the clip = CTI passing through the clip.

  well scrubbing didnt change the situation, but dumping solved it completely, so after i dumped i didnt need to scrub.

  Hello again,

  this is a new question about tiff sequences, im not sure whether to post it in this thread or in a new one, so ill try here first.

  so this is the question:

  now that i have a folder with many tiff files, each representing a frame, is there a way to take these tiffs and save them as a new tiff sequence?

  to clarify:

  say i exported a clip to a tiff sequence. i worked on the tiffs and infact created an animation, which can be played when i play back the “tiff sequence”. now i would like to make another version, i.e to do something different with the tiffs, then save each tiff with the “save as” option, keeping them numbered of course, so i get a new set of tiffs, and now i would like to transform these new tiffs into a tiff sequence that can be played in premiere, independant of the original tiff sequence. is there a way to do so?
