  Entire Project Locked

  Hi there,

  I’ve had a reoccurring problem in both Premiere CS3 as well as CS4. Without warning, the entire project will lock itself. I cannot move or import clips at all. The only thing I can do is delete and splice. This will last for an indefinite period, making the entire project unusable…until it will randomly correct itself, be it hours or days later.

  Does anyone know the cause of this? Is it a random key I’m hitting on the keyboard? Nothing in the Adobe help topics seems to relate to this problem.

  Any help you guys could give me would be greatly appreciated.

  Hi Aaron,

  Let me ask you something, and please excuse me if I’m my question seems inappropriate, is not aimed to you or anybody in particular, but to trying to isolate the problem.

  Is your copy of Premiere legal?

  That is likely cause by either a slow external drive, or insufficient system resources. Does it still happen if you delete all render files?
