    Greetings…

I am producing the video of my daughter’s ballet performance for her studio. This is the second year I have done it, and am running into a similar problem this year as last. There are 24 different dances, which I exported as 24 separate MPEGs and built a DVD in Encore with 24 separate chapters.

I noticed a few glitches in the video at different points when running the DVD in a DVD player. Last year, there were significant places where the pixellating (sp?) was especially bad, even causing the DVD to stop on certain machines. This year, I have seen a couple minor glitches that the machine played through, and when I watched the same spot again, they were not there.

Am I going about this wrong? Should I just make one huge export and use chapter points for scene selection? Are some DVDs better than others (I am using Memorex and TDK DVDs for the copies). I’ve only burned onto DVD-R, is this correct? So many questions…

    Thanks for the help,
    Rick

    Hi Rick,

Are you transcoding in Encore and then previewing it? This will tell you if it is Encore transcoder, otherwise if this is fine, do you know if your DVD burner is functioning fine? Also if that isn’t the problem, what brand of DVD player are you using (Not a cheapy I’m hoping)?

And lastly and most importantly, what version of Encore? CS4 I assume?

Memorex discs have caused me playback problems. Stick with Verbatim.
