  Betacam Green Screen

  I have some footage on the way, I’m told it was shot on analog Betacam SP, and it is of a women singing in front of a green screen. I don’t believe there is very much movement of the vocalist from what I was told.

  I’ve never integrated/superimposed additional footage on to a green screen background.

  Can someone explain/point to the principles, or a good FAQ. I understand it can be done with Premier Pro.

  If you are using CS3/4, for some info you can look in the Heip file under Keys, or search the Cow or the net for “chroma keying”, “color keying” + “Premiere Pro”

  And if you have After Effects, use that instead. (See: “Keylight”)

  If you need a good/clean key, it probably won’t happen in Premiere without the purchase of expensive plugins.

  In the end, it depends on the clients expectation.

  Good keying can take many years to learn and master.

  Thanks for the suggestions. I guess it’s time for me to get my feet wet and get started. I’ll look in the help of CS3 and will try the net again. Was looking for a Guide, something basic for a learning entry point, so I can try to get a feel for it. Once I get the footage I may ask some other questions as I experiment with it.
