Hi. Posted this in the Encore forum a few days back, but that forum doesn’t seem to be as active as this one. Hopefully someone has the experience with Blu ray to give me some feed back.
    Tx!

Good day. I purchased a Lacie Blu Ray external burner about 2 months ago, and have only just had the opportunity to take it for a test drive. I purchased some memorex BD-R’s for my media, which ended up being a mistake. I used Adobe Dynamic Link in Premiere to feed into Encore, clicked the appropriate settings for a Blu Ray burn through my external Lacie, and let Encore take it from there. Transcoding apparently worked fine. The actual burn failed at different points, generating Microsoft C++ errors and another error (Adobe notification). After generating 4 or 5 expensive coasters, I smartened up and bought a Sony re-writable BR disc. This worked flawlessly in 3 different sessions.
Question: what brand of BD-R’s have people used with success? I would like to start archiving some of my footage which is currently on my video raid and a back up external hard drive.

    Thanks for any help.

Verbatim is the brand we use, but you should also check with the burner’s manufacturer. Memorex has also been a bad deal for us.

You can also try burning an image to find out if the issue is with Adobe.

Hi Vince. Thanks for the response. Could it be an Adobe issue if I was able to write to re-writtable Blu-ray discs?

The media was probably the issue in that case.
