1080p vs 1080i and HV30
Sorry, I don’t really know how to ask this question so it’s probably muddled.
I’m new to both CS4 and HD shot with a Canon HV30.
I shoot in 30p, which I assumed I’d edit in CS4 in 1080p 30.
However when I do that, I have to render the video in the timeline.
If I use 1080i 30, I don’t have to render.I read somewhere that the HV30 doesn’t actually shoots in 60i regardless of the setting and I’m having difficulty with the concept.
When I use the 1080i setting to edit 30p video in CS4 from the HV30, does that that mean I lose the advantage of using the “progressive” setting and have all the interlacing issues so might as well shoot in 60i to begin with or do I still retain the advantages even though I’m editing in 1080i in CS4.
Does the rendering decrease the quality to any meaningful degree should I use the 1080p 30 setting?
Any tips appreciated.
